Here’s our list of our top 5 favorite but lesser seen flowers that you should keep an eye out for!

 

Anthurium

Also known as the Painter’s Palette or Flamingo Flower because of its shape, these waxy leaf wonders are characterized by their waxy leaves and tail; which sprouts right in the middle of the flower. As they are believed to bring the receiver luck and ward against evil, Anthuriums are mostly chosen for events, house-warming or grand opening gifts. Most recognized in its red and yellow variant, Anthuriums also come in white, green, pink and purple and are available all year round.

 

Cymbidium

Bigger, bolder and almost thrice as large as the common Orchid. Also known as the Boat Orchid, these highly prized Cymbidiums characterized by their large size and patterned lip. As far as cut flowers go, they have one of the longest vase life and can last anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks when cared for properly. A beloved symbol of luxury , beauty and love, you will most commonly find Cymbidiums as table arrangements for events or as corsages during weddings.

 

David Austin Rose

Yes, your eyes aren’t deceiving you and this is really a Rose! Specifically a type of English rose that is created by David Austin, hence the name. At first glance, David Austin Roses can be mistaken for the equally puffy Peony or Ranunculus, but if you go a little closer, you will notice that their petals grow in a distinct swirl similar the common Rose.
Note: David Austin Roses are slightly exclusive, and we do not stock them on a daily basis. So if you are looking to get your hands on them, do plan ahead as we require some time to ship them to sunny Singapore.

Colors, colors, everywhere! From far away South Africa, these wild flowers are slowly but surely gaining popularity among dried flower enthusiasts. Why you ask? Because even when they are dried, their colors remain just as bright. Also known as Cape Mix, these wild flowers are available all year round and come in many varieties, colors and sizes.

We’ve kept this for the very last one because Peonies are our favorite! A seasonal flower beloved for their lush and soft petals, Peonies represent honor, loyalty and is a symbol for a good marriage. You can tell Peonies apart from David Austin Roses and Ranunculus by their slightly split petal ends and a yellow frilly center. Sadly, these beauties are highly seasonal and only available from April to May or June, so don’t be surprised if you can’t find them.
